WELCOME, READERS OF EARLY PLAYS

Reading Early Plays is a group that meets regularly online to explore drama written before the closure of the London theatres in 1642. We are interested in tracing the connections within groups of plays that share particular features, and in following those associations as they develop across time. We might, for example, investigate drama that was performed by the same acting company, that was written by the same dramatist, or that shared some other type of theatrical commonality.
